Last Wedding of 2017

Taking on a website renovation at the end of a year was not the best idea I've ever had, let's just be honest. But since I jumped in with both feet I decided that it would be perfect for my first blog post on the new site to be about my last wedding of 2017. 

I met Kristine and Kevin for a consultation on a day that seemed like the end of the world. 
We had originally agreed to meet at a Starbucks right off of I-35, halfway between both of us. The rain was heavy, the roads were flooded, and when I arrived at Starbucks, all of the power at that exit was off. The barista let me know that they couldn't allow us in, due to safety regulations, so I quickly called Kristine and we agreed to meet a few exits up. The only place I could find for us to meet, with power, was a Whataburger. How very Texas, right? 

I instantly loved this couple! They were fun, joking around, super laid back, and we chatted about way more than just their wedding photos. Since we met several months in advance, we went over the basic timeline for the big day, a tentative list of important shots, and agreed to keep in touch over the next few months as they continued to plan. Kevin also shared that a distant relative of his was one of Denmark's early photographers and was credited with taking portraits of Hans Christian Andersen- pretty cool! 

Their November wedding took place at The Gardens of Cranesbury View on an overcast and rainy day. There was a chill in the breeze, but the venue looked amazing beneath the clouded sky. Kristine and Kevin are seriously loved by so many, and the entire day felt like it was a relaxed dinner party with your closest friends. Both the bride and groom's families made me feel like I was just another one of them, and when the dance party started later in the evening, I couldn't help but laugh along and join in. 

I wish Kevin and Kristine all of the happiness in the world, and a lifetime of love and laughs. 

I couldn't end this post without a shout out to my awesome new second shooter, Tori. She couldn't have been more fun and I'm excited to work with her again soon :)
